Many of us have race days coming up during the fall marathon and Turkey Trot seasons. Race days are a great opportunity to showcase our preparation and take advantage of the positive vibes offered by others in the run community. In today’s newsletter, we share tips to help you perform at your best on race day. 1. Get ready the night before: Get a full night's sleep (7-9 hours), lay out your gear and have a plan for your pre-race nutrition and transportation to the starting line.
2. Have a pre-race morning routine: Rise early, stay relaxed, remain consistent with your habits, fuel up and hydrate .
3. Warm up at the race venue: Give yourself plenty of time at the venue to avoid feeling rushed, warm up effectively and mentally prepare to conquer race day.
4. Stay focused during the race: Pace yourself based on your goals, stay hydrated and push through mental barriers.
5. Recover and reflect post-race: Cool down, refuel, celebrate your accomplishments and analyze your performance to improve in your next race.
