A Running Store That Encourages Shoplifting

Outrun security to get free gear, cheating in the Chicago marathon and how running can help you deal with trauma.

French running store Distance conducted a unique promotional campaign, allowing customers to steal products marked with "Rob It To Get It" tags, but only if they could outrun the security guard, who was French sprinter Meba Mickael Zeze. Zeze, known for running the 100-meter dash in less than 10 seconds, caught 74 customers during his shift, with two successfully leaving with merchandise. The attempted thefts were captured in a video for the "Rob It To Get It" campaign, and the remaining stolen items were later placed back on the shelves with a discount.πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘Ÿ

Course Cutting/Bib Cheating At The Chicago Marathon

Over 275 runners were removed from the 2023 Chicago Marathon results, a significant increase from the previous year when around 100 runners were disqualified. The marathon organizers promptly removed the questionable finishers, although this makes detailed analysis more challenging. Some runners were identified immediately, while others may still be disqualified or reinstated. The removals are attributed to various issues, including suspicious race patterns and the use of illegal pacers.
