New world record for fastest woman to run a marathon in an inflatable costume
Last Sunday Karen Michelsen become the fastest woman to complete a marathon while dressed in an inflatable costume. She finished the Berlin Marathon in 5:10:21 while wearing a fully inflated red-and-white coronavirus suit for the entire 26.2 miles. Karen broke the previous Guinness World Record by 10 seconds, which was set by Georgina Box, who ran the 2024 London Marathon in 5:10:31 while wearing an inflatable shark costume. Karen, who worked as a nurse during the pandemic, wanted to break the world record to demonstrate how a negative experience can be turned into something positive.
Another amazing record during the #BerlinMarathon 👀

Nutritional content of sweet potatoes
If you’re a runner who gets sick often, eating sweet potatoes might help you. There are over 400 sweet potato varieties, which are all rich in antioxidants. The majority of sweet potatoes fall into 3 categories:
Orange sweet potatoes: Covington, Bayou Belle, Jewel, Porto Rico, Garnet, Bellevue, Burgundy, Beauregard.
White sweet potatoes: Hannah, O’Hentry, Sumor, Muasaki, Satsuma-io (aka the Japanese sweet potato).
Purple sweet potatoes: Okinawa, Stokes Purple, Charleston Purple, Margarita, Sweet Caroline, Medusa.
The 2 main factors to understand the nutritional content of sweet potatoes are anthocyanin and beta-carotene. Purple sweet potatoes have the most anthocyanin and orange sweet potatoes have the most beta-carotene.
Anthocyanins in purple sweet potatoes have been found to protect against Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease. This antioxidant is great for runners, as it can combat oxidative stress and improve blood circulation, which results in healthier, long-lasting muscles.
Beta-carotene in orange sweet potatoes has been proven to slow the progression of vision loss. It can also reduce oxidative stress the same way as Anthocyanins, but Beta-carotene converts into vitamin A, which assists in building a strong immune system. The beta-carotene in sweet potatoes can cause skin to turn orange.
