Erin Andrews’ wellness routine
Ahead of next Sunday’s Super Bowl, NFL reporter Erin Andrews is preparing to report from the sidelines. She is also one of 38 million Americans affected by the uncomfortable eye condition, dry eye disease (DED).
Erin is spreading the word about DED after teaming up to promote the drug Miebo, which treats DED with eye drops that address tear evaporation. Miebo works by forming a protective layer over the eye, which reduces evaporation and dryness.
Erin initially thought her DED was a result of her eyes being tired since she’s constantly on her laptop and phone preparing for game day. Turns out, it was DED. After discovering that prescription drops could help treat her DED, Erin is sharing her experience with others.
In addition to treating her DED, Erin’s wellness routine includes:
40+ minute daily workout for a good sweat (needed to function)
Acupuncture and infrared saunas
Having a cup of coffee (preferred to cold tubs)
Lymphatic drainage
NAD supplements for anti-aging
New marathon record in crocs
Earlier this month at Australia’s Cadbury Marathon, Dan Camac set a new record by running a marathon while wearing a pair of Crocs in 2 hours 49 minutes.
Dan’s motivation came from looking for a new challenge while browsing the Guinness World Records website. Since he already owned a pair of Crocs and had previously ran a marathon in 2 hours 34 minutes, he felt confident he could break the record.
Dan’s unofficial world record of 2 hours 49 minutes beat Kevin Leimkuhler’s Crocs marathon time of 2 hours and 51 minutes at the 2024 New York City Marathon.

The Runbell
A Japanese brand has designed a small bell that runners can wear on their finger to alert pedestrians of their presence. Running on the road means navigating cars, bike lanes and fellow pedestrians.
The Runbell is intended to be a small accessory that improves sidewalk running by helping runners share the path by giving walkers plenty of notice to move out of the way.
Eating less can result in gaining weight
Registered dietician Nancy Clark recently shared that eating less and moving more does not always result in weight loss. While many runners working to lose weight focus on eating less, not eating enough can hinder fat loss and impact running performance. Relative Energy Deficiency (REDs) describes a condition where athletes do not fuel enough to meet energy demands.
Takeaways from Nancy:
Undereating can lead to fatigue, injuries, and stalled weight loss.
Low Energy Availability (LEA) makes the body conserve fat. Signs of LEA include low libido, disrupted sleep, constant food thoughts, and feeling cold all the time.
Endurance runners often need 2,600+ calories (women) and 3,000+ (men).
Increasing intake by just 300-350 calories/day can help restore energy levels.
Why run clubs are exploding in popularity
In December, we shared Strava’s report about the growth of run clubs. Why are they exploding?
Keeping up with faster runners in a group can be motivating to improve while providing less pressure than a race.
It’s fun to grab a bite and socialize after run.
After the isolation of the pandemic, many are looking for a community to shared experiences with.
Run clubs offer a great blend of physical activity and social connection.
Achieving goals and working out together creates a powerful bond making run clubs a great place to many friends and meet someone to date.
They're a great social alternative to the bar scene that can result in expanding your social circle with like-minded individuals.
