Oura introduces fertile window feature
The Oura Ring announced a new feature that provides women with insights into their fertility window. The method, which works through continuous physiological tracking, has outperformed the traditional calendar method in predicting ovulation. Whether women are trying to conceive or simply would like to learn more about their bodies, Oura’s goal is to empower them.
Oura’s fertile window prediction relies on physiological data rather than solely calendar tracking. The feature can detect 96.4% of ovulations with an average error of just ±1.26 days, making it more accurate than traditional methods, especially for those with irregular cycles.
Olympian dumped by text on valentines day
On Valentines Day, Olympian Lauren Ryan received a text from her boyfriend ending their relationship. The text motivated Lauren during last weekend’s Boston Valentine Invitational 3,000m (1.86 miles) to win with a personal best time of 8:41 (a 4:40 mile pace).
In a post-race interview, Lauren shared that she had “fuel running inside of [her]” and that she “just wanted to win so bad.” The biggest lesson that Lauren learned is that the “only person that won’t let you down is yourself.”
Lauren runs professionally for Under Armour and competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Here’s why workplace life insurance might not be enough
Unexpected events shouldn't leave your loved ones financially exposed. And while employer coverage is a nice perk, it usually only offers 2x your salary – far below the recommended 10-15x for real security (especially with dependents). Term life insurance can bridge the gap with customizable, affordable plans. Money’s Best Life Insurance list can help you find coverage starting at just $7/month, providing the peace of mind your family deserves.
Jacob Kiplimo runs half marathon in 56:42
Last Saturday at the Barcelona Half Marathon, Jacob Kiplimo set a new world record by finishing with a time of 56 minutes 42 seconds. Jacob ran at an average pace of 13.86 miles per hour, or a 4 minutes and 20 seconds mile pace.
The 24-year-fom Uganda, Jacob Kiplimo, broke Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha's world record by 48 seconds (Yomif ran a half marathon in 57 minutes 30 seconds last fall).
Jacob is the son of two farmers from eastern Uganda. To get to school, he would run over 3 miles at an altitude of 6,200 feet. He entered competitive running because he wanted to be like his older brothers.
Easy ways to eat more chickpeas
What are chickpeas?
Chickpeas (or garbanzo beans) are small, round, and beige-colored. They are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, plant protein, and fiber.
Are chickpeas good for you?
Chickpeas provide 14.5 grams of plant-based protein and 12.5 grams of dietary fiber per cup (cooked), meaning they aid digestion and keep you feeling full for longer. They are relatively low in calories, containing only 4 grams of fat (a mix of healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated) per cup and will not cause blood sugar levels to spike since they are low on the glycemic index.
Chickpeas are an excellent source of the manganese (important for the brain and nervous systems), B vitamin folate (important for cell growth), as well as copper, iron, zinc, and phosphorus. Chickpeas are a good source of potassium and magnesium and are high in vitamins A, E, and C, and a good source of, thiamine, vitamin B6, and selenium.
Ideas to add chickpeas to your diet
You can enjoy chickpeas right from the can, on salads and added to soups and stews. Hummus — made from chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and tahini (sesame-seed paste) — is a great dip for vegetables and pita bread.
Chickpea flour, a good stand-in for gluten-containing flours, is more dense than all-purpose flour and absorbs more moisture. Pasta made with chickpea flour tends to be higher in protein and fiber than traditional pasta, with a pleasantly nutty taste.
Chickpea recipes
Combine chickpeas with a squeeze of lemon, a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, and a pinch of flaky salt. Add to a salad or eat as is.
Toss chickpeas with cucumber, tomato, red onion, feta, olives, lettuce, and Greek dressing.
Make roasted chickpeas:
Pat chickpeas dry then toss with extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and spices.
Spread in a single layer on a cookie sheet and roast for 45 minutes at 350°. Eat as a snack or use to top a salad.
For homemade hummus:
Boil a can of chickpeas with a pinch of baking soda for 20 minutes
Blend the chickpeas with 1/2 cup tahini, the juice from 2 lemons, one large garlic clove, a large pinch of salt, and a drizzle of olive oil.
5 annoying gym habits
Bad hygiene: Nose-picking, leaving towels in shared spaces, and failing to wipe down equipment.
Slobs & mess monsters: Messy gym offenders who leave equipment in the wrong spot, turn the locker room into a pigsty, and spill drinks. The mess not only makes workouts difficult, it creates visual chaos in the gym.
Machine hogs: Parking on a machine, doom scrolling, texting or take selfies while others are waiting to use equipment.
Loudly chatting and talking: Chatting loudly, singing or shouting. People want to get lifting, running or cycling without people chattering loudly around them.
Space invaders, exercise interrupters and smooth talkers: A mix of disruptive behaviors including those who are constantly in the way of your workout, those who interrupt your routine without good reason and those who use the gym as a flirting ground.
