Beijing half marathon winners stripped of medals
The top four finishers of the Beijing Half Marathon have been stripped of their medals after the organizing committee confirmed that three African runners deliberately slowed down in the last 2 kilometers to let a Chinese runner win. The finish was captured in a viral video that caused an online uproar in China.
The three African runners were invited to join the race as pacemakers by Chinese sports company Xtep, which sponsored the event, but failed to note the trio as pacemakers to the race operator. The Chinese runner that won, 25-year-old He Jie, is ranked 74th in the world in the men’s marathon by World Athletics and is expected to lead the way for Asian runners in the upcoming Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Swap red meat for fish
Swapping red meat with small fish like anchovies, and sardines could save 750,000 lives a year according to findings recently published in BMJ Global Health.
Why?
Red meat consumption has been linked to chronic conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and colon cancer.
Small fish are rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and contain fewer contaminants like mercury compared with larger fish like tuna or salmon.
Consuming more small fish like herring, anchovies, and sardines in place of red meat could have a major impact on preventing premature deaths worldwide.
Red meat consumption is associated with elevated risk of mortality from noncommunicable diseases. Forage fish could prevent conditions like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and colon cancer. Replacing just 16 percent of the world’s red meat diet with forage fish could reduce deaths from coronary artery disease by 15 percent, and deaths from stroke, diabetes, and colorectal cancer by 2 to 3 percent according to the lead researcher.

When is the best time in the morning to have caffeine? Drink coffee when you want, there is no need to delay your caffeine until mid-morning or later in the day. Delaying morning caffeine has become a talking point for biohacking podcasters, TikTok personalities, yoga instructors and other influencers, but when actual scientists looked into it they didn’t find support for it. In March, a group of sports scientists published a refutation of common myths about caffeine, and included a section on claims that mid-morning coffee is healthier or more effective than early morning coffee.

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.
Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.
Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!
