Motivation from Earth Day

Motivation from Earth Day

Last week, the world celebrated our planet during Earth Day. Created in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson to prevent factories from pumping toxic smoke and dumping toxic waste, Earth Day has since mobilized over 1 billion people to protect our planet.

Here are 3 ways to use Earth day as motivation:

Things don’t need to be how they’ve always been: In 1970, Senator Nelson looked around at the environmental issues and believed the world deserved better. He mobilized 20 million people for the first observance of earth day in 1970 and 54 years later the world still observes the day. The environment is better off because of Senator Nelson’s efforts. We can all inspire change.

We’re all on the same team: Humanity is one species that shares a single planet (at least for now). We have our differences, but all benefit from a healthy and thriving planet earth meaning it is our shared responsibility to work together to care for the planet. Whether it is Senator Nelson founding Earth Day in 1970, Elon Musk building an electric car company or the daily actions of all of us, we all play a role in preserving our planet for future generations.

A free stress reliever surrounds us: Being in nature improves our moods and relieves stress. It’s easy to forget how something as simple has spending time in the outdoors can benefit us. Carve out time to be amongst the trees to dissolve your stress and anxiety.

Thank you planet earth! Let’s have a great week!
