Today is the first Monday in March. With many of us experiencing warmer weather, it can become natural to savor more of life.
As we savor life, we conserve our energy. It is human instinct.
While savoring life and conserving energy is not a bad thing, when we do these things too much, life begins to feel less meaningful.
When this happens, instead of savoring life and conserving energy, we can choose to fight for our growth. This way, we refocus our attention on playing a small part in making the world a better place.
As Jane Goodall shares, “The greatest danger to our future is apathy. We can't all save the world in a dramatic way, but we can each make our small difference, and together those small differences add up. Every single person makes an impact on the planet every single day.”
This week and always, lets be aware of apathy and work to improve our planet.
1. What makes me lethargic? When we feel like we have no energy or enthusiasm, why is that? Is it simply because we are tired or did something or someone drain our energy? If our energy was drained by a person or a task, how can we avoid that in the future?
2. How can I make a small impact today? It can be easy to envision grand plans that change the future. Instead, by focusing on making a small impact today, we avoid getting overwhelmed and force ourselves to take action. As Jane shared, the small differences add up over time.
3. How can I fight forward? Pushing forward requires energy and courage. Without it, we don’t grow and the world doesn’t improve. By constantly fighting forward, we work to avoid the stagnation that occurs naturally and create a brighter future.
Thanks for reading. Lets have a great week!
